Our Golfing History

The Bristol Electric Club have 4 Golf Trophies with plenty of heritage 

  • The Mitchell Cup -First played for in 1928.The cup was traditionally played for every year, except between 1939 and 1945 due to World War II and resumed in 1946. The Cup was last played for in 1999.

  • The Chairman’s Cup - First played for in 1933, The cup was played for every year, except between 1939 and 1944 due to World War II, and resumed in 1945. The Cup has been played for every year from 1946 to 2017, with the last winner being in 2017 however there were no Golf Competitions in 2018 or 2019.

  • The Foursome’s Cup -First played for in 1934, The cup was played for every year, except between 1939 and 1944 due to World War II,  and resumed in 1945. The Cup has been played every year from 1946 to 1999. In 2003, after 3 years with no competition, the Trophy was changed from an Individual to Team Event.

  • The Baker Cup- First played for in 1935, The cup was played for every year, except between 1938 and 1947 due to World War II, and resumed in 1947. The Cup was then played for between 1947 and 1955, with no competitions between 1956 and 1962. The Cup has been played every year from 1962 to 1999. In 2003, after 3 years with no competitions, the Trophy was changed from an Individual to Team Event.
